This is SongOfHopeOriginal, or just Song Of Hope. Sorry, I wrote this all out first without a computer and then typed it up because my dad limited my computer time to 2 hours a day. Stupid ADHD. Anyway, I've read some theories about this so called "Purple Ninja" that's supposed to show up next season in 2014. There's also the theory of a Zane version 0, or Zv0. These both come from the reflection in Zane's eyes for the Ninjago 2014 poster. While I believe these theories hold some water, I have my own theories.

The reflection looked indeed like a ninja, or possible kunoichi, which would be the proper term for a female practioner of ninjitsu or Spinjitsu, but I noticed something else that no one else seems to have from what I've read. In the reflections, there is some sort of mechanical or electrical device over the person's glowing red eye. That could easily lead to manipulation.

How does this work you ask? Well, I'll fit in the popular Zv0 theory in certain ways. The device could either mean a cyborg, or ninborg/kunborg if thy are indeed a ninja or kunoichi, or it is merely a device on one of the existing ninja's head that is controlling them. There is not much detail within the reflection, but it is obvious that only one eye is glowing and not both.

How would this device come to be you wonder? This is where I'll fit in parts of the Zv0 theory to an extent. Doctor Julien is an amazing scientist who wants to help people. Sometimes, the most dangerous thing to a person can be their own emotions. For this, he created a device that uses electrical pulses sent in through the eye to activate chemicals in the brain to calm a person down, even in the angriest state.

In this, I add something else. In order for there to be light, there must also be shadow. In Shinto, a religion that originated in Japan, where ninjas, samurais, and ninjitsu from which we get Spinjitsu, are from. In the religion that is known as Shinto, anything and everything can be used for good or evil equally. Someone, though at this point there really is no "who," so they will be called Peron/Organization B or P/O B, used this device made to calm a person and altered it to control a person. By changing the electrical shock patterns, it could manipulate a person's thought and emotions, because, after all, our brains run on electrical pulses.

Now, in order to do this, they would've had to been close to Dr. Julien. I believe that it was a possible research assistant, called Assistant X, that was not evil themself, but they being threatened by someone who wants to tamper with it. That being said, when the device started going into use by doctors for psych patients, mothers' whose children had anger issues, and insomniacs so they could actually sleep, that's when the code that was added began to tamper with the product was activated.

Because Dr. Julien was possibly older than Sensei Wu due to the fact that he died many years before the old master, it is a possibility that the First Spinjitsu Master was still alive at this point. However, this is based only on the possibility that Dr. Julien truly is older than Sensei Wu, which is highly unlikely, but a possibility none the less.

I know, what does this have to do with it? Well, when Dr. Julien's invention went wrong, the First Spinjitsu Master most likely got involved due to the shift in Balance and the possible release of the Overlord. Of course, he would do anything to stop that, so he used the powers of the Four Golden Weapons to quickly go around and destroy these devices while Dr. Julien kept trying to remotely shut them down without damaging the brains of the people using them. If not done right, the electricity could easily fire heavily before shutting down, causing permanent brain damage. With the Nunchaks of Lightning, the First Spinjitsu Master could do this without causing any harm.

After the FSM (I'm getting tired writing out the whole thing) came to Dr. Julien and told him that he knew that his intentions were good, but that he was too naïve and it nearly lost people their free will and almost got people killed. Then, he would've told him that it was the fact that most humans let their emotions control them that this happened. After that incident, Dr. Julien swore to make sure no one would ever use his inventions for evil again again, so he destroyed all of the devices that were not in use, burned his blueprints, and went to live by himself.

At this point, my mind ruses up some other questions. How did anyone get a hold of this device if it was destroyed and the blueprints burned? This leads back to Assistant X. If once again forced by P/O B, he/she could either recreate the blueprints or use copies of the blueprints that Assistant X had copied without Dr. Julien's permission or knowledge, and then use those to recreate the device which P/O B could then use for evil.

All of this together explains many things. Because Dr. Julien created this device, he views himself as a monster, rather than viewing himself as a monster for being forced to build machines for the Skulkin army. Most normal people wouldn't view themselves as a monster for that because it is against their will. Dr. Julien is far from normal, but even he knows that doing something against one's will is not their fault. However, Dr. Julien built this theoretical device of his own free will, and would be unaware of the tampering and find it that he made and error that caused it to go wrong.

This also explains Zane. Zane was created to protect others, which Dr. Julien was unable to do because he wasn't able to to stop it from happening or able to properly shut down these devices when it did. The FSM also said to Dr. Julien that humans are controlled by their emotions. He wanted Zane to have his own feelings and free will, but he also didn't want to risk Zane being controlled when he designed Zane to be his own person, so he gave him "halved" emotions, where Zane could feel emotions, but not as intensely as others. It also explains why Zane has switches to turn off certain emotions, in case he is being controlled through emotions, so that Dr. Julien can turn them off and program Zane a way to defend himself against that outside influence before turning his emotions back on.

Now, here's my other theory, which is much shorter. The reflection was not someone wearing the device, but the device was instead a part of them. They could easily be a cyborg. Dr. Julien could also be connected to this as well.

Due to a tragic accident, a young child was nearly killed. The parents of the child begged Dr. Julien, who was becoming quite prominent, to save him/her because medical science could not. Using his skills in robotics, he recreated parts such as an eye to replace the one that the young child had lost. They were designed using that child's genetic code to also grow with with him/her. He then placed skin that had been grow from his/her own skim to cover up the robotic parts so s/he could live a normal life.

Everything was fine, until one day, when s/he was playing with some of his/her friends, s/he hit the ground and scraped the side of his/her face, showing his/her robotic parts. The friends didn't care, but a bully saw all of this happen and used it to make that kid's life a living Underworld. Even though all robotic parts did was help and act like normal ones, s/he wasn't allowed help on homework because of a supposed computer brain, was given extra hard work for the same reason, and wasn't allowed to participate in gym. S/he became angry, and although the friends tried to help, his/her anger only grew worse.

One day, the kid, now a teenager in high school, the kid was just eating his/her lunch when someone thought it would be funny to throw water in his/her face. His/her robotic eye wasn't designed for that, and when it entered his/her circuitry, it locked him/her in a state of permanent anger. S/he went out of control, nearly killing everyone there except for his/her friends. The school immediately got in contact with the parents, who then contacted Dr. Julien . He shut down the child and did a diagnostic exam on him/her, only to find no way to return the child back to normal. Regrettably, he had to shut them down permanently so that they wouldn't to that again. The parents begged him to do something, but he could do nothing but instead of a full shut down, he could put the child on life supporting programs only and also put them in a suspended growth state.

This theory also explains much. Dr. Julien felt that he turned the child into a monster, and therefore was a monster himself. Because of this, he secluded himself into the Birchwood Forest. His guilt for what he did could have also caused him to build Zane, to try and replace the child the parents had lost. Zane was also built to protect those who could not protect themselves because Dr. Julien let a monster run loose, and if Zane was programmed not to hurt people, then it wouldn't happen again. When Dr. Julien activated Zane though, he became too attached to Zane to let him go. He, now know somewhat what it is like to be a parent, also understood that a child is irreplaceable, thus knowing that trying to give Zane to them would be like adding insult to injury.

However, this does not explain how this cyborg was reactivated.

After a certain time, the child's parents died, and there was someone who wandered where they weren't supposed too. Out of curiosity, they ended up accidentally reactivating this insane cyborg, who felt a need for revenge on those who had refused to accept them, on Dr. Julien for shutting them down, and on Zane for being accepted when the cyborg had not. After changing more of himself/herself into robot, they downloaded Spinjitsu and now it set to kill those they want revenge on.

In both situations, Dr. Julien would be put in the hot seat by the ninja, with Zane being conflicted, and the adults trying to keep peace between everyone.

I think that either situation is highly plausible, just as much as the Zv0 theory or the evil "Purple Ninja" theory. You don't have to agree with either theories. I could be completely wrong on this, but this is all just based off of a few lines from Dr. Julien and a reflection in Zane's eyes on a poster.
This is pretty much just two theories of mine on the next season of Ninjago in 2014. There's always a possibility of me being wrong, and it's likely to be wrong, but I'd like to think that it's possible that I'm right.
